Spider-man: Homecoming Score Sounds Familiar

Late last week, Spider-Man: Homecoming composer, Michael Giacchino, tweeted out a short snippet of him conducting an orchestra as they were presumably going through the score for the film.

Fans of Marvel Comics’ Spider-Man should recognize the tune as it is Giacchino’s take on the classic theme song to the Spider-Man cartoon series that ran from 1967 – 1970. While we aren’t sure if it will actually make it into the final soundtrack, I would expect that it will considering the tune has popped up as an Easter egg in previous Spider-Man films.

Spider-Man: Homecoming stars Tom Holland, Marisa Tomea, Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Logan Marshall-Green and Robert Downey, Jr. and opens in theaters on July 7, 2017.
