Nathan Fillion Joins THE SUICIDE SQUAD

Deadline is reporting that Nathan Fillion has joined the cast of  James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad in an undisclosed role.

This isn’t Fillion’s first foray into the DC Universe. You might recall that he provided the voice of Green Lantern Hal Jordan in multiple DC animated features including Green Lantern: Emerald Knights, Justice League: Doom, and most recently, Reign of the Supermen. He has also appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe where he voiced a monstrous inmate in Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014.

So far, the cast for The Suicide Squad includes Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, and Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag. New members of the cast include David Dastmalchian as Polka-Dot Man, and Daniela Melchior as Ratcatcher. Steve Agee was recently announced to be playing King Shark. Idris Elba and Flula Borg have also joined the cast; however, their roles have not yet been announced.

The Suicide Squad was written by James Gunn who will also direct the film. Production begins next month and it is scheduled to open in theaters on August 6, 2021.
