Black Panther Sequel Announced

Not that anyone doubted this would happen, but Marvel’s Black Panther has officially been given a sequel!

After bringing in nearly a billion dollars worldwide since it’s release four weeks ago, was there really any question as to whether or not Marvel would make a sequel to this amazing movie? Not really, but considering they are playing things close to the vest with all things post-Infinity War, announcements haven’t exactly been very forthcoming. That being said, we all knew that a Black Panther sequel was coming sooner or later, and the head of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, finally made things official.

While speaking with EW about the future of the MCU, and specifically the prospect of a Black Panther sequel, Kevin Feige said:

Nothing specific to reveal, other than to say we absolutely will do that. One of the favorite pastimes at Marvel Studios is sitting around on a Part One and talking and dreaming about what we would do in a Part Two. There have been plenty of those conversations as we were putting together the first Black Panther. We have ideas and a pretty solid direction on where we want to head with the second one.

Now for the questions… First, when will the Black Panther sequel be released? Second, will they use an existing Black Panther story from the comics, or will it be something somewhat original? And third, will Ryan Coogler return to direct?
