The popular The Sims franchise is officially going mobile. The EA developed franchise is coming to iOS and Android devices in what is expected to be the most in-depth experience we’ve see up to this point for The Sims on mobile devices.

This isn’t the first time that The Sims have released a mobile game. The Sims Social was a Facebook title that was available between 2011 and 2013 and The Sims Freeplay is currently available on both iOS and Android. Despite their popularity, neither of those titles have been able to capture the same experience as the original PC games.

We’re not currently sure just how close The Sims Mobile will be to the PC version, but we do know that it offers a lot more than previous mobile iterations of the game. Here is what we know so far:

  • The game has an in-depth house builder.
  • There are lots of customization options for your Sim.
  • Online multiplayer is available.
  • The trailer mentions hobbies (which seem to be new).
  • Lots and lots of micro-transactions, because EA.

The Sims Mobile is currently available in Brazil as a free download on both iOS and Android; however, a global launch shouldn’t be far behind. And if you haven’t seen it yet, be sure to check out the official trailer below.
