Stolendroids Is Back

Previously on Stolendroids…

Last March, a series of events occurred over the course of about a week that started with one member of the Stolendroids staff resigning and ultimately led to our podcasts ending and our website becoming abandoned. The story is long, and there are a lot of details that I won’t bore you with, but there are some things you should know.

As I mentioned, the week started with a resignation. This caused me to perform some serious self-reflection. Would Stolendroiods be able to continue growing as we had after suffering such a loss? Should I take this as an opportunity to step away as well? Was I even having fun anymore? I had been with Stolendroids since the beginning. It was something that I had poured my heart and soul into for a decade, but my personal life had become extremely busy. And frankly, between my day job, my personal life, and trying to help run Stolendroids, I was feeling really burned out. Something had to give.

Once I returned home from my trip, the rest of Stolendroid’s management met to determine what our next steps would be. After a lengthy discussion, we decided that it would be best for us to all just walk off into the sunset. Yes, it would be difficult to just quit something we’d worked so hard to build, but real life was demanding our attention. As sad as it was, Stolendroids needed to end. We essentially planned our own funeral and then did what we said we would do: we quit.

Welcome to today…

Flash forward to a few weeks ago when Collin and I noticed that Stolendroids.com had been taken offline. That hit me hard. Yes, we had walked away, but the site was still here. Our hard work was still here. There was evidence of all of the hours of hard work that not only I had put in, but that so many others had also invested. And then it was gone. Erased with a few keystrokes.

I looked into things and found that the site was taken offline. Also, backups had been made and the domain was still under Stolendroids control. It was at this point that we decided that we were going to bring it back. Discussions were had and within a day or so, Stolendroids was under my control. I didn’t know what I was going to do with it, but I knew it would be back online within a month or so. Heck, I might even revive a podcast or two.

Of course, things never go according to plan and things happened to cause timelines to be exponentially accelerated. So here we are. A little more than a week later, you’re looking at the first day of the brand new Stolendroids. Call it a comeback, a reboot, or a resurrection. Each could be applicable. But we’re back. And we’re excited to be here.
