Nobody likes getting wasting time with email scammers so we usually just delete their message and move on with our lives. The problem with this tactic is that it then frees up the scammer to bother someone else. Someone who may not be as technically savvy, or recognize that what the scammer is promising is actually too good to be true.
If you think you’ve received a scam email, forward it to email@example.com and they will take it from there. They will even send you a summary of the conversations Re:scam has had with the scammer which I’m sure has comedy gold written all over it.
