Thanks to EW, we have our first look at the Supernatural/Scooby-Doo crossover event that airs later this month in which our monster-slaying heroes are sucked through a television into an episode of Scooby-Doo.

Robert Singer, the Supernatural co-showrunner says:

Once they get over their amazement at being in the cartoon, two things happen. They say, “We’ve been in a situation like this before with the Trickster and I think we’re supposed to play this out.” And then they realize they’re in a Scooby-Doo cartoon, which makes Dean incredibly excited because Scooby-Doo was his favorite cartoon growing up.

Dean’s extensive knowledge of all things Scooby-Doo will be put to the test when he recognizes that the episode they’re in is based on the 1970 Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! episode “A Night of Fright Is No Delight” where Scooby is chosen as an heir to the late Colonel Beauregard Sanders, whom Scooby saved from drowning in a fish pond years before. But of course, this isn’t the episode that Dean knows and loves because there’s a Supernatural-level monster at work.

Check out the pics below and let us know your thoughts. Are you excited for this crossover, or do you think it’s simply a ratings ploy?

“Scoobynatural” airs on Thursday, March 29, at 8 p.m. ET on the CW.
