For many people my age who grew up watching afternoon television in the late 80’s to early 90’s, the Disney afternoon lineup of shows were some of the favorites.  Shows like Chip ‘n Dale’s Rescue Rangers, Darkwing Duck, Tailspin, and of course DuckTales set the bar for great cartoons which got away from the more action oriented shows like GI Joe and Transformers. These cartoons used existing Disney characters, combined with a few new ones, to tell original stories loved by millions. Since the shows were popular, we of course got officially licensed video game versions of many of the shows, and as with almost all licensed games, they mostly sucked. One of the very few exceptions to this rule throughout all of gaming history is the original DuckTales the Video Game. This game featured fantastic game-play legendary music, and a real challenge that was hard, but not “Nintendo-Hard”. Now, almost 25 years later, we’re getting an HD remake/remaster. I, for one, can’t wait to get back to Duckburg.
